The LittleBigPlanet video game series has had several entries over the years, with the first two major games released on the PS3 and the third game on the PS4. The latest entry in the series is Sackboy: A Big Adventure, which came out in November 2020 for the PS4 and PS5.

Over the years, the LittleBigPlanet series gained a loyal player community that has enjoyed the puzzle platform content in the games. The games would also receive new content or DLC, such as costumes inspired by popular franchises like Toy Story. Recently, the LittleBigPlanet player community received an update that said there will be free bonus content added to LittleBigPlanet 3.

A recent tweet from the official Sackboy and LittleBigPlanet Twitter account reveals that the bonus content from the first game and LittleBigPlanet 2 will be available in LittleBigPlanet 3. The post also states the bonus content will be unlocked for everybody. So, even if they didn't play either of the original LittleBigPlanet games, every player should be able to enjoy the free content.

According to the post, the bonus content for LittleBigPlanet 3 will have a variety of things. It will include the "full collection" of costumes, tools, materials, objects, decorations, stickers, and backgrounds that were available in the story modes for LittleBigPlanet and LittleBigPlanet 2. This also includes everything from the base games that didn't require DLC to acquire.

The post provides instructions on how players can access the bonus content in LittleBigPlanet 3. First, players head to the Pause Menu, then go to Settings, select My Unlocks, and then choose "Unlock LittleBigPlanet Content" and "Unlock LittleBigPlanet 2 Content." Once players have selected both of the options, they will automatically unlock the bonus content for the game.

The post also states that the unlocked bonus content doesn't include any of the story mode levels from either LittleBigPlanet or LittleBigPlanet 2 or any of the DLC content either. The response to the tweet was a mixture of surprise, enjoyment, and disappointment for some. There were plenty of commenters who voiced their excitement of the free bonus content, with some expressing mild enjoyment of the news, while others were disappointed in the lack of story mode levels or DLC content.

However, this isn't the last free content that will be added to a game in the LittleBigPlanet series anytime soon. Earlier today, the LittleBigPlanet account tweeted a post that there will be some upcoming Halloween content heading to the recent Sackboy game. According to the post, there will be a free zombie costume and emote added to Sackboy: A Big Adventure. The new Halloween content will be available to players on the PlayStation Store this Friday, October 29.

LittleBigPlanet 3 is available now on the PS4.
