MW3 Elite Content Drops Intended For Multiple Xbox Profiles – Fix Incoming

4.6
Infinity Ward’s Creative Strategist, Robert Bowling, recently spoke about the availability of ELITE DLC Content Drops being exclusive to the Gamertag that is associated with the ELITE Premium service on the Xbox 360.

Many Modern Warfare 3 Xbox 360 fans have been up-in-arms that the recently released content drops on the Xbox 360 are available to only one profile even though the content is installed to the Xbox 360 hard drive. Activision Customer Support originally stated yesterday that “the ELITE content is only accessible to gamertags associated with ELITE. This is intended,” in response to upset fans. Though, it was later added that the statement meant to read: ”…are allowed to access it.” The representative added, “I couldnt say if it will be accessible to other tags once launched to public, but currently only premium members.”

Today, Bowling clarified on the official Call of Duty Forums:

We understand that ELITE Premium Members on Xbox Live who purchased the latest DLC Content Drop for Modern Warfare 3 are unable to access that content while signed into other profiles on the same console that originally downloaded the content. This is unintentional and we will work to get an update out as soon as possible that corrects this issue and allows you to continue to enjoy the new maps.

As Gameranx reported earlier, the original statement was also not in accordance with the Xbox 360′s terms of use, making Bowling’s statement all the more reasonable. This will most likely apply to PlayStation 3 ELITE Premium members as well.

Waste of money for half-ass maps.

Did they change their minds about this or was it just a mistake?

grundyboy34 Now all you will have to do is recover a friend's gamertag who has the maps, redownload them to your xbox and you have them for free.

You have to license transfer....

But also, I'm curious how they are going to do this. Because the maps are only in the Elite playlists correct? Will the other profiles be able to access those playlists?

Playlists? Probably not. They'll most likely only be able to play it once they come to the actual playlists :)

How does it not follow the Terms and Conditions? when you download anything on xbox it states that it can be used by any profile on the xbox it is purchased on.
