Cyberpunk 2077 was announced back in 2012, and over the years, the game managed to become one of the most anticipated games of the decade. When it was released last year, it barely managed to live up to the hype and was marred with a number of performance issues.
The game’s sub-par performance on last-gen consoles compelled Sony to delist the game from the Store entirely. Almost six months after the game’s release and numerous patches in, a large number of fans are still waiting for the game to make its appearance on the PlayStation Store.
During the quarterly earnings call for Q1 2021, CD Projekt Red executives have provided fans with an update about the entire Sony debacle. CD Projekt Red has mentioned that to get the game relisted on the PlayStation Store, there are certain conditions that need to be met.
What these conditions are isn’t specified, but CD Projekt Red has assured that they are in the middle of the entire process. Conversations are underway, and the developers will make an official announcement when the game is ready to be listed on PlayStation Store once again. What’s more interesting is the fact that Washington Post reporter Gene Park had enquired Sony about the same, and didn’t get any response as such.
I’ve asked Sony a while ago what would it take for cyberpunk to get back on its store and I got zero response lol https://t.co/T9Y6H26EQL— gene park (@GenePark) May 31, 2021
With CD Projekt Red providing an update on the situation, a number of fans who still haven’t played the game have a lot to look forward to. We have received several patches over the past few months and the game’s performance has improved quite a bit, although there are still ample issues surrounding it. It remains to be seen when Cyberpunk 2077 is relisted on the PlayStation store.
