Bungie opposes SOPA, mostly because it 'sucks'

Everyone at Bungie thinks SOPA "sucks," according to a new post on its News board. Bungie, formerly of the Halo franchise, joins a growing list of developers and companies opposing SOPA, and urges its audience to take action against the bill.

"Bungie is opposed to any legislation that curtails free speech, stifles innovation, and prevents the open sharing of information on the Internet," Bungie's position reads. "SOPA fits that bill. If it passes, it will hurt our community, the gaming community at large, and it could very well cripple the kind of games we love to create and play.

"Just like online piracy, that would be downright criminal."

Dude you're SOOOOO right. The government's job right now is supposed to make the people actually like them again, but that's clearly not going to happen if they're more on destroying what people are so dependent on.



Heres a better Idea, Lets have a Rebellion. We shall overthrow the U.S government and then put the laws in the citizens hands. I know this would never happen. But never say never. I hate the U.S, when I turn 18yr I'm moving to the Uk and getting a British GF. I wanna marry her then become a citizen of the Uk.

I honestly don't think SOPA will pass.
There's a lot of people against, even ones that aren't a part of the gaming community.
I know my mom is against it just cause she doesn't believe its right.

Incase it hasn't been adressed already, it is the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) which basically blocks websites outside of the U.S. via protocols and also removes anything with copywright for say you have a video of someone dancing and a box of Puff's tissue in the background, it will be removed due to copywright. It also will stop Torrents and most likely P2P. It's pretty scary. Read up about it. It is basically a bill that destroys the internet.
