10 PlayStation 3 Exclusives Xbox 360 Owners Desperately Want

3.7
Ahhh, system exclusives…that one thing that leaves us wondering if we need just one console in our house. Let’s face it, there are some games you can’t play without an Xbox 360, just like there are some games you need a PlayStation 3 to really get into. Over the next couple of days, you’ll see a pair of specials that discuss the ten most wanted exclusives from each side. For today, we’ll knock out the ten PlayStation 3 exclusives that Xbox 360 owners want for their system. Now, there were some systematic games we eliminated. As cool as 3D Dot Game Heroes is in retro flavor, Atlus has provided more than enough fun for 360 owners between the recently released Catherine and Trine 2. And Gran Turismo 5? Ehhh, Forza 4 is better. Nuff said. So, with that, here’s our countdown of the ten exclusives that are sooooo wanted in Microsoft land…

ico

10. Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection: Though a lot of the import market is flooded with them, the Xbox 360 doesn’t have as many innovative titles as one would think. They’re good, yes, but they don’t raise the bar in gameplay or design enough. That’s why Sony’s dual pack of Team Ico hits would do the trick. Ico, with its tricky puzzle solving and intricate level design, is a true step forward in game development. But Shadow of the Colossus tops it, thanks to insanely huge bosses and some deep gameplay, as you have to think your way into bringing the big beasts down, lest end up a bloody speck on the ground. Yes, we know the games were originally on PS2…but that doesn’t stop us from wanting them.

sly cooper

9. The Sly Collection: The Xbox 360 has its fair share of platformers, particularly the release of Activision’s Skylanders. But The Sly Collection, consisting of three cartoon-like favorites from the developers at Sucker Punch, would feel right at home. With its gorgeous stage set-up, humorous tone (nothing truly over menacing here) and entertaining globetrotting, the games truly set the stage for the next game to come in 2012, Thieves In Time. Hey, we’ll take that one as well, thanks.

moterstorm

8. Motorstorm Apocalypse: The Xbox 360 is striving with great racing games, like Split/Second and Forza 4. But when was the last time we had a really good destructive one? Motorstorm Apocalypse covers these bases significantly, with stages that change over the course of each race and crumble beneath your wheels. The visuals are splendid, especially in 3D, and the multiplayer is addictive when you’ve got friends who know what they’re doing. The hidden shortcuts and various vehicle types just sweeten the deal…even if it is the end of the world.

ratchet and clank: a crack in time

7. Ratchet and Clank: A Crack In Time: As superb as All 4 One was – especially with its multiplayer factor – if we had to choose just one Ratchet and Clank game to come to the Xbox 360, A Crack In Time would win hands down. With a smooth frame rate, lifelike levels that appear taken straight out of a Pixar film, challenging boss segments and plenty of laughs, it’s the ideal game for all ages – and one that would easily be a winner in Microsoft’s camp. Hell, we’d even accept Captain Qwark into the ranks.

wipeout HD

6. Wipeout HD: The Xbox 360 doesn’t have many choices when it comes to futuristic racing, save the somewhat forgotten Fatal Inertia. That’s why Wipeout HD would be perfect for the system, with its incredibly smooth frame rate, diabolically designed tracks, tricky AI, various modes and terrific aerial handling. It retains all the good stuff that the series has been known for, while throwing in some cool tricks. And seeing it in 3D? Priceless. This would be right at home with Xbox Live support.

little big planet 2

5. LittleBigPlanet 2: Creative-based games are hard to come by on the Xbox 360. I think the only genuine choice out there, aside from titles that support add-on content, is EA’s iffy Create. So with that, Sackboy and his crew of Sack friends could easily set up camp on the Xbox 360 with their create-your-own-world game. Think about it. With Xbox Live users, the numbers of made levels would easily triple, if not quadruple, and the ability to download DLC would be so much simpler than waiting for a measly PlayStation Network update. Excellent thought.

Infamous 2

4. Infamous 2: Cole McGrath definitely took “charge” in this sequel, with his good (or bad) elements in play and some new tools of the trade helping him out. Good adventures always seem to be a solid fit on the Xbox 360, and Infamous 2 fits this mold to a T. With its open-world gameplay, magnificent abilities (hovering is beyond fun), level creation tools (again, Xbox Live supported) and solid graphics, it’d be an electrifying choice for the system.

killzone 3

3. Killzone 3: Okay, we already figure this would be an impossibility to come to the Xbox 360, due to the fact that it takes up 45 GB of hard drive space, the equivalent of nine 360 retail discs. But still, we can dream, can’t we? And what better way to dream than with this gutsy first-person shooter, packed with thrilling vehicle segments and overflowing details throughout the Helghast-ruled world. Maybe it could fit into a convenient 25 GB download…?

god of war III

2. God of War III: Hell yes we want Kratos. This guy has been ripping folks apart for years now, using a number of combos and the kind of moves that would make a girly man poop his pants. God of War III was easily one of his better adventures, with massive bosses, insane gameplay improvements and a cinematic presentation that still hasn’t been matched for the last year and a half. Bring on the War.

uncharted

1. Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception: We’ve saved the best for last, and who better than Nathan Drake to lead the charge? Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception is the fitting choice for his Xbox 360 debut, with plenty of take-charge action to catch, along with rigorous multiplayer (much improved from Among Thieves) and the kind of cinemas that really draw you in to the story. For that matter, we’d happily take The Last of Us as well. Think about it, will you, Sony? (Yeah, right.)

Get It's all good.

Still glad that the Xbox is better than the PS3.

I have both but none of them are better. I just happen to play xbox more because my cousins have xbox live so I played with them more and ended up making a lot of friends on xbox...so I play xbox. If they would of had a PS3 it would of been the other way around,

I kinda surprised MAG isn't up there considering that i know a fair number of xbox players who would love to have MAG, including me!

I own a PS3... so.

Uncharted sure, ICO not so much since its on PS2 which most people own. Killzone is garbage, the only good one was 1 along with GoW which is horrible as well. Here take Xbox's GoW acronymed game since that series sucks as well.
