Thieves Steal Millions from Xbox Live Accounts

4.5
Thousands of Xbox Live users have fallen victim to a phishing scheme perpetrated by online thieves.

The scam entailed sending emails to users directing them to a phoney website offering free Microsoft Points. To redeem the points, individuals were asked to enter confidential information, allowing the criminals to access their bank accounts.

Craftily, the criminals took only small amounts of money over a protracted period of time, making the theft hard to detect.

According to The Sun, which broke the story, gamers in 35 countries have fallen foul of the scam, with the average lost approximately £100 (around $155).

LeoIsAJoke Why don't they go to Prizerebel if they want free Microsoft points. That's how I got my Modern Warfare 3 for free :).

This happened to my friend on October 31st, overnight, He lost like 170 USD on 4000 MSP packs with the credit card. All on Zune, Which he doesn't really listen to music, he has netflix so no need for movies from zune. Overnight, he tried logging in and it said his password, and his account was changed & recovered on another console. He got it back but the account was shut down for 1-2 months.

im 14 and i remembered when i looked for these msp generators i think i tried like 10 programs none worked and most had enter email and password for msp. so i would just close and delete the program.

They were at there own fault for falling for this seeming as they are all fake.
