Modern Warfare 3 pre-orders near 9 million, analyst says

According to Lazard Capital Markets' Atul Bagga, as reported by GameSpot, pre-orders for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 were nearly three times that of Battlefield 3, which pegs Activision's shooter at around 9 million pre-orders. The estimate puts Modern Warfare 3 pre-orders roughly 70 percent ahead of those for Modern Warfare 2 and 55 percent beyond Call of Duty: Black Ops. Furthermore, the analyst expects Modern Warfare 3 to move a full 20 million copies by the end of the year.
Those aren't exactly outlandish estimates, given the success of the franchise. Perhaps a more interesting study would be to gauge how many people are skipping work to play. Frankly, with Skyrim launching later this week, we fear worldwide productivity will flatline forever.
ok so i have every bf game and every cod game, and i just got mw3 today. and i am really disappointed. i havent beaten the campaign, that might be great. but the multiplayer for me is just blah. i'm not feelin it. the maps are just way to tight and there are way to many tight corners.
FList nothings really new with this game.mutiplayer is pretty much the same as modernwarfare 2, but with a few tweeks. only got it for the campaign. waste of money.
Yeh same, and for the spec ops stuff which i enjoy a lot
its the same damn game dude. and what bugs, yeah sure the beta had a lot, but its a beta, and thats well over, mw3 aint that great, its really kinda the same.

Waltee I pre-ordered a Hardened Edition at my local Gamestation and they sold it to someone else, so when I went to pick it up today I wasn't able to get it, therefore had to buy the normal edition and 4200 points seperately, and missed out on all the added bonuses and the "Intel Pack". Fuming.
They have to hold your game for at least 2 days before they sell it to someone else so i wouldve made them give me a LARGE discount on all of it.
So that means they made AT LEAST 540 million dollars. That doesn't include the people who bought the prestige edition or the people who bought Elite. That's A LOT of money.
