Analyst Predicts Modern Warfare 3 Sales will Double Battlefield 3

Sales of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 are likely to hit 16 million units in the fourth quarter of the year, according to Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter, who believes Battlefield 3 will sell eight million copies globally during the same timeframe.

Pachter told Forbes that the two rival shooters should generate over $1.4 billion in revenue in the three month period, representing 15 percent of total packaged game sales.

He also thinks Modern Warfare 3 could sell an additional eight million copies in 2012 and Battlefield 3 another two million units, with many gamers choosing to pick up both games.

"I'd guess that around half of the console copies of Battlefield 3 will be bought by people who also buy Modern Warfare 3, so around two to three million will buy both," he said. "I don't see much cannibalization of the titles."

Its funny how you say BF is a wanna be cod when BF was created b4 cod. BF also was the first to create a war game to take place in modern time. Plus, BF3 has better graphics, better multiplayer, more players, bigger maps, more unlocks/guns, and best of all, DEDICATED SERVERS. which means little to no lag, spot on hit detection, no lag switching, no host advantage. Holy sh*t, why do ppl say it's so bad? Most ppl who do are just mad cuz they suck but otherwise, I have no idea.

I could understand if you prefer another game but that doesn't mean its a terrible game.

Two words, CoD Fanboy. Their first instinct with every game, "It sux, play cod, its way bettur."

Why just why is it that poeple always have to bring up BF3 in a MW3 post or the other way around? It's so annoying to know that when I clicked on this post that I was going to see fanboys arguing.
