DualSense Battery Capacity Seemingly Revealed on Twitter

4.1
That's some more mAh power for the next-generation controller.

There seems to be a lot of leaks flooding through the gaming industry these days. At the start of this awfully hot month, we saw a Reddit user claiming that PS5’s DualSense controller battery life lasts 3-4 hours longer than the DualShock 4.

Now, another leak has surfaced, this time from a Twitter user @Galaxyrain666 who appears to have gotten hands-on with Sony’s upcoming next-generation controller. This time though, the hands-on doesn’t focus on the looks and feel like we saw in Geoff Keighley’s video. But instead, we’re shown the battery capacity of the controller.

As revealed in the images below, Galaxy666 appears to have dismantled the controller and shares an image of the battery. The battery is a 1560mAh Li-ion, which is a fair bit more than the DualShock 4’s 1000mAh.

Galaxy666 also notes that the DualSense controller buttons do not light up. We’re all in the know by now of the new technology in the controller, such as the adaptive triggers and the new rumble system. So there are a few things that’ll be no doubt using up that power.

The new features coming to the controller are something that Sony PlayStation appears to be pushing a lot, with the announcement that PS5 games require a DualSense controller so that players can fully experience the PS5 experience.

What are your thoughts on the possible battery capacity? Would you have preferred to have seen standard AAA batteries or are your happy with the Li-ion? In somewhat related news, PSP users in Japan have been noticing their PSP Li-ion batteries starting to swell, so it may be worth checking your devices if you have one.
