Install Battlefield 3 on 360, get better textures

4.5
Those who pick up the Xbox 360 version of Battlefield 3 later in the month may want to take the time and install it; better quality textures will be your reward.

DICE producer Patrick Liu explains: “There’s a voluntary install on the 360. I think Rage did it as well, where you can install content to stream higher res textures.

“We’re pushing that technology to the limit, and compared to our competitors, I would argue that we’re the best looking game.”

Gamerzines got the news out of the man, but whether the PS3 version uses a similar approach remains unknown.

Rambo25 Reason's why you should install a game to you're hard drive.
1. No noise.
2. Lessens the chance of the RROD/
3. Lesser loading times.
3. Better textures, graphics
and here's a tip DONT INSTALL HALO 3 TO HARD DRIVE

1. True, because the disk doesn't spin constantly.
2. Heat reduced because the disk doesn't spin constantly.
3. Depends which HDD and Disk drive you have, some disk drives are faster than certain HDDs ( Mostly older versions HDD)
4. Only in certain games ;)

wells51 I always install to the hard drive, loads faster and my Xbox lives longer.

Agreed, that's the best decision

I also agree. And I'd heve to say Dave, that's the best profile pic I've ever seen on this forum. Lol

I am with Xbox 360 slim 4gb w/o the 250gb HDD but I ordered one (250GB HDD) and reading this article makes me even happier that I did.

Nice, I have a 250GB HDD and always install a game before I start playing it.

Game and saves load faster, and no noise coming from the disc tray :)
