EA is reportedly planning a Mass Effect trilogy remaster

4.7
Electronic Arts will release a Mass Effect trilogy remaster in its current financial year, ending March 31, 2021.

That’s according to VentureBeat, which says the remaster is the game listed as ‘EA HD title’ in the publisher’s newly updated release schedule.

The BioWare RPG trilogy released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC between 2007 and 2012.

Given the popularity of the series (the original three games had sold some 14 million units as of 2014), it’s perhaps surprising that they haven’t been remastered for modern platforms before now.

However, the fourth Mass Effect game, 2017’s Andromeda, received the most divisive reviews of the series, which could have reduced excitement around the franchise.

An entirely new Mass Effect game is reportedly in the “very early” stages of development at BioWare Edmonton, according to a November 2019 Kotaku report.

The game is reportedly being directed by Mike Gamble, who has worked at BioWare for a decade serving as development manager on Mass Effect 2 and in producer roles on Mass Effect 3 and the most recent series entry, Andromeda.

Gamble also served as lead producer on 2019’s Anthem, a title which is in line for a major overhaul as BioWare looks to turn around the fortunes of its first new intellectual property in over a decade.

Another project in development at BioWare, Dragon Age 4, isn’t expected to be released before April 2022, according to EA.

Int Never played any Mass Effects, they don't really look that great IMO..

We must not be watching the same gameplay, it's a lot of fun...

Wouldn't mind this. Somehow missed out on this series previously, wouldn't mind a modernized playthrough!

Sliinkyy Lets just focus on new games instead of bringing old games back to life.

But why, when your fan base is probably wanting it. If they update the graphics with a remaster, it is always good to replay the gameplay imo
