Back in February, former Gears of War designer Cliff Bleszinski indicated that he'd like to consult on the Gears franchise, informing Microsoft that his "offer still stands" via a Twitter post, and highlighting that a bunch of his and former Gears designer Lee Perry's ideas had previously been left sitting on the cutting room floor.

Now, Bleszinski has commented about potentially consulting on Gears again, noting that Microsoft and/or The Coalition has yet to contact him, and admitting they are now unlikely to do so:

Gears fans - I ADORE all of you and I truly appreciate your support over the years. Meeting so many of you in person, hell, the tattoos, all of it.

However, if MS/The Coalition hasn't contacted me yet (they have my info) to consult it's not going to happen.

Bleszinski was Design Director at Epic Games before leaving back in 2012, having spent two decades with the company. He led development on the first three Gears of War games on Xbox 360, but hasn't been involved with the franchise since his departure from Epic Games.
