Cliff Bleszinski On Gears 6 “Not Going To Happen”

4
Back in February, former Gears of War designer Cliff Bleszinski indicated that he'd like to consult on the Gears franchise, informing Microsoft that his "offer still stands" via a Twitter post, and highlighting that a bunch of his and former Gears designer Lee Perry's ideas had previously been left sitting on the cutting room floor.

Now, Bleszinski has commented about potentially consulting on Gears again, noting that Microsoft and/or The Coalition has yet to contact him, and admitting they are now unlikely to do so:

Bleszinski was Design Director at Epic Games before leaving back in 2012, having spent two decades with the company. He led development on the first three Gears of War games on Xbox 360, but hasn't been involved with the franchise since his departure from Epic Games.

Gossip Hopefully he can take his skills and create another amazing series.

I'm sure he can do something great. Gears was a favorite by many so I'm sure if they never end up releasing a 6th one he can get a team going and make a new series that will stand out just like Gears.

Letdown for gears fans. Sad to see but it was about time they stopped making these games as their fan base slowly was getting smaller. Possible we could still see one in the future though!

This is such a shame for all those Gears fans.
