No Prestige Edition for Modern Warfare 3

Modern Warfare 3 will not come in a Prestige Edition, Infinity Ward creative strategist Robert Bowling tweeted. The Modern Warfare 3 Hardened Edition is priced at $99.99, $20 more than previous Hardened Editions, and includes a one-year membership to Call of Duty Elite as its major selling point. Perhaps without the distraction of making augmented-reality scuba goggles or one-size-fits-all MW3-branded combat boots, Infinity Ward and Activision were able to focus on making the actual game as great as it can be. Perhaps.

Agreed. A lot of money will be made from this game and HOPEFULLY, HOPEFULLY they are not like 3arc with money making off map packs.

Prestige edition would be too much and I suppose, after Black Ops, IW are wanting to impress their fan base showing they are better than 3arc and also, since BF3 is coming out, BF3 will not charge as much for any editions or multiple sh*t map packs so therefore IW have a big challenge ahead of them. And personally, I hope they succeed.

DrPhil321 I never understood why people pay extra for a metal case....it's not like you say "OH EM GEE GUYZ LUUK AT MAH SHINEY METAL CASE!!!!" If you do..........no....... The only thing that should matter is the game. I'd take the disc in a paper bag if it meant paying $50.

We don't only pay for the metal case. We pay for 1 year elite, avatar outfit, metal case and artbook thingy.

I like what they put in the Hardened Edition, I couldn't really think of something better for a Prestige Edition.

laofuhmous I think they make a 5 dollar profit from it. knowing the elite is 50 a year. and map packs are 14.99 and most likely its 3 maps a year - 45. unless theyre giving out exclusive content besides maps.

Hey man there are going to be 12 map packs 1 every month.Elite is $50 and the game is $60 and they're selling it for $100 I don't see the profit here but its a bargain.If you dont beleive they talk about it all during the cod xp event

It's the same thing as Bungie.com for if you play Halo.. theres a premium edition.. and free edition. Elite is free but has a premium service.
You actually save money with elite though, that is if you buy the maps..but w/e say its stupid while i save 20 bucks =)

Dear Dope, you are an idiot. Bungie's online tracker is COMPLETELY FREE. Bungie doesn't charge for something so simple and fun to use. Activision is just trying to get money on this. MW3 is a no buy fro me because of all the crap they put into this one.
