Stadia Adds Two New Titles, Free Offers, and Features

Stadia succeeds in courting indie titles with its two latest additions.

Google Stadia, like other streaming platforms, has had its fair share of issues. Unlike GeForce Now, the Stadia has been able to retain its AAA titles, like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. However, we’ve recently reported that the Stadia’s issues are more on the indie side of things. That being said, the Stadia may be turning things around on that front. As of this week, two new indie games are launching on Stadia. For an added bonus, Stadia subscribers are also getting access to the next season in Destiny 2 and some quality of life features.

Coming to Stadia this week are SteamWorld Heist and SteamWorld Dig. While this is a good get for Stadia, it’s important to keep in mind that these titles are pretty old. They launched in 2015 and 2013 respectively, and it’s worth noting that SteamWorld Dig was free on Playstation Plus all the way back in 2014. Picking up these Steamworld titles on Stadia will cost you $19.99 for Heist and $9.99 for Dig.

Looking back to the platform’s AAA support, Stadia is continuing its support of Destiny 2. Stadia Pro subscribers will be getting free access to the Season of the Worthy. This is one of those instances where Stadia can flex its streaming platform muscles, as players won’t have to wait to download anything to access Destiny 2. Included in the Season of the Worthy are new events, strike difficulties and the return of the Trials of Osiris on March 13.

For those that have the bandwidth to play games on Stadia at high resolutions and framerates, this update is for you. If you’ve been taking screenshots of clips of your games, accessing them will be much easier. You can now access your captures on your computer at this site and download them from there.
