Fallout 76 – Bethesda Addresses Inventory Exploit

4
Earlier this week, Bethesda’s Fallout 76 faced a new issue. Yes, it’s way past beating a dead horse at this point but this particular exploit is nasty. According to reports from players, it allowed some players to take items directly from others’ inventories. Even if the player was hundreds of meters away, you could click to trade on them and take all their stuff.

Bethesda has offered an update on the situation via the game’s official subreddit. It stated that the PC-only exploit “may have resulted a few players losing items that their characters had equipped.” A fix is currently being worked on and should be out soon. The developer noted that only a “small number of characters” were affected negatively but it’s still making the matter its top priority.

“We would like to apologize to those of you who were impacted by this exploit. We want to make this right, and we are currently looking into ways we may be able to compensate you. If you believe you have been affected, please let us know by submitting a ticket to our Customer Support team.”

While Bethesda’s response to the issue has been quick, it doesn’t help to fix Fallout 76’s reputation as a buggy, unstable game. That’s not including the controversy generated by Fallout 1st, a subscription service for quality of life services like Private Worlds, an unlimited scrapbox and a Survival Tent for $13 per month. What’s next for the title especially with the Wastelanders update out next year? Only time will tell so stay tuned.
