Retro-style brawler Path of the Warrior out now on Oculus headsets.

Classic brawler fans who’ve migrated to VR have a new title to get excited for: Path of the Warrior. A classic Streets of Rage-style beat-em-up reimagined for the Oculus Quest and Oculus Rift, it releases today from developer Twisted Pixel and Oculus Studios.

Players will get to score combos on other brawlers in various fully interactive environments, causing weapons and other items to spawn as they land consecutive hits. Path of the Warrior also allows for classic fighting game moves like shoving enemies into nearby placements (like a jukebox, as seen in the trailer) or using improvised weaponry for massive damage and a higher score.

Twisted Pixel developed Path of the Warrior with Oculus Quest in mind, but those who purchase the game on either Oculus Quest or Oculus Rift will have the ability to play it on both systems, as well as with other players across the Oculus platform.

There are no clearly defined difficulty modes to choose from in Path of the Warrior, rather allowing players to ratchet up the difficulty at their own pace while they play. And while co-op will not be available at launch, Oculus Studios informs us that a co-op mode will arrive soon.

Path of the Warrior arrives today on the Oculus Store for both the Oculus Quest and the Oculus Rift.
