Call of Duty: Mobile drops controller support a day after launch

3.6
Call of Duty: Mobile launched earlier this week on Android and iOS, and it’s generally been smooth sailing for Call of Duty’s first major mobile release. The game is full of content, from traditional multiplayer to a 100-player battle royale mode.

Shortly after launch, players discovered that controllers can be used to play the game. Now that iOS officially supports PS4/Xbox One controllers, many on mobile are beginning to get comfortable with the idea of using them to play games over the device’s touch screen.

Unfortunately, controllers were seemingly not intentionally supported. Activision rolled out an update to the game that took out controller support, making touch screen the only valid method of playing Call of Duty: Mobile. Players surprised by this contacted Activision support, believing it to be an error.

The publisher’s support team, however, clarified that it is indeed intentional.

The debate of whether or not playing multiplayer phone games with a controller offers an unfair advantage is an old one, but this may be the first case where it’s very simple to get the same experience with any of the existing Call of Duty games on consoles or PC, all of which support controllers.

Lol @theadmins...you guys really deleted those comments? You have a news spammer issue and you refuse to tell them to stop and you wonder why we are calling them out on it

I figured when this first dropped that I would try playing with a controller but after a few games, I've enjoyed it more just using the touch screen.

I could imagine this is gonna piss a lot of people off bc I saw a lot of people that enjoyed stomping with a controller lmao. It kinda sucks but that's the meaning of a mobile game, using a touchscreen imo

isn't there an app to bypass this? or is that for more simple games? tbh though surely more people would play if you can use an actual contoller?

I understand the intention are Mobile, but, I think it would be awesome to have controller support and carry just a controller around with a phone screen mount attachment to play.
Controller Phones will make cross play and interactions more fun and frequent for future gaming.

Replace "Drops" with "Removes" because clearly this article is already being taken out of context. Who ever edits these articles should probably change it asap.
