It took developer Funcom long enough but during EA’s press conference at Gamescom today, creative director and senior producer Ragnar Tornquist took stage and announced that the company’s upcoming MMO The Secret World will be released in April 2012, with beta registrations opening up as soon as August 26th. The Secret World, as described by Tornquist himself, will make every urban legend, every myth and every conspiracy theory you’ve heard of come to life in the game, giving the developer an almost infinite number of story elements to draw from “where magic is real, where monsters roam, where the darkness is tangible.”
