Firewall: Zero Hour Celebrates Anniversary with Free Weekend
Tomorrow will be the one year anniversary of the release of First Contact Entertainment and Sony Interactive Entertainment’s PlayStation VR exclusive first-person shooter Firewall: Zero Hour. While it had some matchmaking issues, Firewall cemented itself as one of the better VR shooters out there and has maintained a stable player count. To give the game’s community a shot of adrenaline during its first anniversary, Sony is holding a free weekend for Firewall: Zero Hour.
While this free trailer is only available for PS Plus members, it will last six days. The event starts tomorrow, August 28, and runs until September 2. The trial grants access to all content released for the game up until this point as well, so it really should give interested players a good taste of what they can expect if they decide to pick up Firewall: Zero Hour after the trial ends. For players that already own the game, a Double XP event is being held within the same time frame.
A PlayStation Blog post revealing this free weekend also includes a list of tactical tips, so it’s definitely worth checking out for new players. Alongside all of this one year anniversary info, the developers also revealed some interesting stats about the game. Over 4,028,896 hours of Firewall: Zero Hour have been played and during that time over 26,833,576 enemies have been killed. The top maps are Compound, District, and Hotel, the most popular weapons are the Taylor X-75, Spitfire, and Taylor X-75 CQB, and the community’s favorite operators to use are Texas, Red, and Skip.
You can check out the trailer highlighting this free weekend below. Firewall: Zero Hour is currently available for PlayStation VR, and if you feel inclined to pick it up after this free trial, it is available on Amazon.
