Tougher leave penalties are coming to Rainbow Six Siege

4.1
Ubisoft has announced that they are introducing harsher penalties to Rainbow Six Siege players who leave active ranked games. At the moment, players who leave a ranked match mid-game receive a very short ban of 15 minutes, which is significantly less time than most ranked matches run for. Instead, the new system of leave penalties will escalate the penalty the more often a player quits out of an active match.

Exactly how this escalation plays out is still unclear – as is the exact release date of this change – but this news should be music to the ears of Rainbow Six Siege players who are tired of losing ranked matches and MMR to rage-quitting teammates.

It’s not the only change Ubisoft has planned to target player behaviour, as they also have a fix coming for reverse friendly-fire. This change is intended to stop groups of players from picking on individuals on their team spreading out damage among themselves to avoid activating reverse friendly-fire. Now, reverse friendly-fire will activate across the whole group of players, which should help reduce toxicity.

One more fix Ubisoft has planned to improve player behaviour is that players will automatically drop the defuser on spawn if they are inactive during the preparation phase, which means players will not need to kill their teammates in order to get the defuser off them.

The ‘player behaviour’ cell was created following the Six Invitational 2019 in Montreal, so it’s good to see Ubisoft keeping the playerbase abreast of the team’s progress.

Miss How about fix your matchmaking instead? I don't necessarily care if I lose a ranked match, but what bothers me is getting into a game as a Gold 3 or 4 and going against four Plat 2s and one Gold 3 (example). Or, for example, being a Silver 1 and going against all Gold 1 and 2s because they have one Silver 2 with them.

No one kills each other in Ranked and hardley anyone rage quits (in higher tiers). These are pointless "fixes" in my opinion.

Now honestly i hate when people leave ranked games, but when they add this i hope it can tell when you lag out of a game or if the game crashes. now that might not be possible but it would be nice not to lose elo from something you cant control.

At least their always working on different things to benefit the game better.
