Battlefield 3 console multiplayer maps will be more compact

4.5
The bad news (or good, depending on your point of view) for console gamers is that the scaling down of Battlefield 3 on PS3 and Xbox 360 includes smaller multiplayer maps to better fit the restricted 24 player head-count compared to PC's 64 player space.

The skies remain unrestricted, however, as players in planes are free to fly around full maps without the out of bounds zones.

Also detailed was the CQC melee system which, rather than being based on one fatal move like most FPS games, incorporates quick-fire button prompts allowing players to choose between right and left punches, counter punches and throws.

If you want to see a bit of Battlefield 3 gameplay in action, head over to the footage released earlier this month and take some time to look over the stunning grabs we snatched for your perusal.

elfyyevo wont be playing bf3 till its 60 fps and stop downgrading the game for consols

The xbox cant handle 60fps on bf3, think about it, you know how much ram large scale maps, insane graphics engine and up to 24 people in 1 lobby would take? alot. The only reason COD games run 60 fps is because they are not as advanced as bf3.

The hardware is 6 years out of date it cannot handle 60Fps, Also if you try and put 64 Players on small maps it will lag and there would be rockets flying everywhere.
