Double Fine and Bandai Namco Entertainment’s RAD Receives Release Date

RAD, the post-post apocalyptic roguelike from Double Fine's Lee Petty, is finally launching for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch on August 20.

One of the biggest highlights of March’s Nindies Presentation was RAD, a post-post apocalyptic roguelike from the mind of Double Fine’s Lee Petty. Today, Double Fine and Bandai Namco Entertainment confirmed that RAD is releasing for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on August 20.

This means we are just three months away from the game’s launch, so Lee Petty reflected on both that fact and how much the community’s feedback has influenced RAD. “We’re almost at the home stretch and I couldn’t be more excited for everyone to jump into what we’ve built with RAD. One of the best parts of developing RAD has been getting early feedback from the community with the Closed Beta. I want our fans and future players to know that they’re being heard and we’re going to bring an experience they’ll want to keep going back to,” he said.

While fans are contributing to the game via Closed Beta feedback, one lucky artist could also get their drawing in the game. The RAD Art Contest opened today, and lets fans submit their own graffiti designs. The one that represents the game the best will be chosen by the developers and will actually be featured in RAD. The artist who gets the grand prize will also receive “additional limited swag items, including a skateboard, glow-in-the-dark action figure, lunch box and floppy disk” while two runners-up will also get unspecified RAD merchandise.
