Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling Will Buy Battlefield 3

4.7
Infinity Ward's own Creative Strategist, Robert Bowling, has gone on the record stating that he plans to buy EA's monster FPS, Battlefield 3, when it comes out this October. He believes that "if you are a shooter fan, you should be getting both [Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3]."
"If you are a shooter fan, you should be getting both, because they're both going to be excellent experiences.

"But more importantly they're going to be very different experiences. The kind of gameplay you get from Call of Duty is very different from what you get anywhere else and I think that's important. I think any shooter fan would be extremely disappointed if you only got one." But, when it comes to EA's war on Activision's Call of Duty, Bowling believes there's no such thing as one victor in the genre. His comments seem to mirror Battlefield 3's Patrick Bach's comments in regards to the COD/BF3 war:
"Honestly, we're not trying to go after CoD. Of course there will be crossover - it's a first-person shooter, it's modern-day, and there are resemblances on locations, even - we're all inspired by the same media and the world around us.

"We have so many things in our game that aren't a part of Modern Warfare, so it really comes down to personal preference. You choose based on the depth you want, the maturity level, your own personal taste... it's all about how you get your fix."

It seems while EA and Activision (maybe, more so, EA) bang each other's heads into the wall over who's military shooter will take the sales throne this year, the developers could care less and are more interested in shipping the best game they can this Fall. Hopefully this publisher war doesn't reflect on the games themselves and ultimately lessen the quality of these two behemoth titles.

Robert- "Guys, Cancel MW3, were are done"

Haha. I hate the battlefield games tho, I always loved Call Of Duty series. But It's still going to be the same game just like MW2. I mean we all have seen the trailer for it, & The Game Demo @ E3 2011. Face It, This time Battlefield will probably win. But I will be getting both.
i disagree Mw3 has a high chance of winning , most people dont know but high chances are that they have hidden ticks up there sleaves and we dont know , im not buying BF on release date maybe later on my games am buying is GTA 5 , SR3 , MW3 u know the fun game o_O and yes i have both BF so u cant call me a fan boy o_O

TTG_Roast I'll be getting them both too. Who doesn't love the MW2 engine?

You mean the CoD 4 Engine...
the engine means graphics as well i don't think they're going to go back to cod 4 graphics...

They have been using the same engine for all the Call of Duty games since COD 2, they just keep up dating it and polishing it.

personally. I'm switching to battlefield. I'm done with cod, it gets really boring after like a month. and everyone always says the next one will be better...no it won't. I had fun with mw2 but then it got old..same with black ops. hopefully I like battlefield I've played the demos. haha they're fun.

I agree with Bowling why not get the best of both worlds where one may suck the other could be better. I know I got both them, although i do like the competition because thats naturally the way that things should work, because that strives people to get better and to make better products in the future.

They are both totally different games and both will be amazing. You would be insane if you didn't buy both.
