Xbox 720 and PS4 not out until 2014

The next consoles from Sony and Microsoft will not launch until three years' time, predicts GameStop.

Senior executives from the US retail giant made the claim during a series of investor meetings, according to financial research firm Baird.

A statement read: "Management does not expect new hardware consoles from Microsoft and Sony until 2014; however, a successful launch of Nintendo's Wii U in 2012 could add pressure to accelerate a hardware refresh.

"GameStop is also upbeat on the coming launch of Sony's PlayStation Vita handheld gaming device, which has a $249 price-point within the reach of many gamers.

"As for the motion controller launched a year ago, management indicated more software is needed to maintain sales momentum."

Unless Microsoft carry over all my Xbox Live Licences for all my arcade games and live content I won't be getting the next gen - instead I'll stick to upgrading my PC every couple of years.

I'm an avid Arcade/Puzzle game lover and I would see no benefit if this didn't happen

snazzysnipezz i believe ps4 will be after 720 so sony can test the 720 and make things better so hopefully they can have a system comeback i guess its the waiting

Thats how they generaly lost system comeback by releasing ps3 after xbox360 much more people enjoyed xbox360 and didnt like ps3 because of lack of features and you certainly know what i am talking about.
Could'nt of said better myself :)
