EA accused of ModernWarfare3 domain hijinks

4.7
In a move that perhaps kicks off what will be an intense six months of campaigning and rivalry, it has been discovered that the URL www.ModernWarfare3.com redirects to the homepage of rival game Battlefield.

The URL appears to have been registered anonymously, though some – such as Future site GamesRadar – are openly pointing the finger at Battlefield publisher EA.

Kotaku reckons that prior to the redirect the site contained an anti-Call of Duty video and the following text:

“Modern Warfare is crap. On November 8th, 2011, the most over-hyped first-person action series of all-time returns with the copy and paste sequel to the lackluster Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

“Check out the E3 2011 gameplay demo featuring the Black Tuesday level for a look at the epic fail of the campaign. Pre-Order Call of Duty MW3 Today for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC to secure exclusive bonuses only available online for Modern Warfare 3 fanboys who don't know that Battlefield 3 is the better game.”

IMO Call of Duty requires no skill what so ever and I'm not a BF fanboy who has never played CoD, I've been on the CoD boat ever since CoD 3. BF takes more skill including sniping, tactical squad decisions, and learning to control your fire. CoD is a easy FPS because it's designed so that if someone who has never played a FPS can pick up the controller and do considerably better. Sniping on CoD also requires not near as much skill as BF sniping, in BF you have to adjust for bullet drop over distances, as for CoD the bullets are super bullets that maintain their projected path. BF is just a more realistic and fun shooter and that's why I'm more excited for BF3 (NOTE-I'M NOT TRASHING COD IM JUST TRYING TO PROVIDE A MOST UNBIASED OPINION AS POSSIBLE, SO DONT FLAME ME)
lol, the game you play says nothing about your skill, only playstyle.

as soon as you say that, we just know its cuz you suck at cod & has moved on to battlefield because you cudnt accept that the game doesnt suck.. you suck

I don't suck at CoD, I have a 1.13 k/d. look up my combat record my gamertag is xSHiiFTxx. I moved on to battlefield because of MW2. I hated people glitching into rocks and Javelin glitches. DICE's servers are better(dedicated servers) and no one mods/glitches BF. I like both but i enjoy BF a lot better. so don't flame me.

MiiGHTYMiiCAH17 I'm a cod fan but this year bf3 takes the cake how's it taste EA??? How that cake right now bf3 is outselling mw3 in pre order sAles what does that tell you other call of duty players

Umm, it tells me CoD is still going to sell more. Do you have any idea how many people are going to buy it on launch day? Not everybody pre-orders the game 5 months before it comes out. And you're obviously not a fan :|

I can see into the future and i know how many people are going to be at launch day of MW3. Theres is going to be atleast 5 million less "little kids" at the stores. Not happy? Go complain to the future

we'll see when the game actually comes out (:

That_Scene_Kid DICE Is just jealous because Modern Warfare 3 looks amazing and the CoD series is awesome, while their games are sh*t.

Realism in shooters makes the game less fun, battlefield doesnt take skill either. I picked that game up and had a 3.8 k/d on it and the sniping? pfft bullet drop is so easy to deal with.

I don't think Dice would do this but regardless MW3 will sell more than BF3

Silly Battlefield 3 fanboy doing this, he's so jealous of Modern Warfare 3 that he would waste his life just to mess with the Modern Warfare 3 website.
