Microsoft has today unveiled the latest lineup of titles set to hit the Xbox Games with Gold program for April 2019 and it’s a pretty solid month for throwback releases, but not so much newer ones.
On the Xbox One front, The Technomancer is set to be available for Xbox Live Gold subscribers starting on April 1 and lasting through the end of the month on the 30th. Starting on April 16, Outcast – Second Contact will also become available for free until the following month on May 15. Both of these titles are regularly $39.99.
By far the most prominent new addition to the Games with Gold lineup next month though is the classic original Xbox title Star Wars Battlefront II. The beloved Star Wars game will only be available for a short period of time though from April 1 through the 15th, so make sure you grab it soon.
Lastly, rounding out the list this month is that of Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 which will be available to download for free from April 16 through the 30th. Ghost Recon’s addition here also coincides with its newfound availability as a backward compatible title on Xbox One as of today.
All in all, it’s a somewhat weak month but it’s good to see Star Wars Battlefront II being made available in this manner. Maybe I’ll actually dive back into the game for the first time in years next month as a result.
