Why isn’t FIFA in 3D yet?

With sports these days being broadcasted in 3D all over, and the tech being pushed in videogames, why isn’t one of the biggest sports game series, FIFA, in 3D yet? For those few who’ve wondered, FIFA 12 lead producer David Rutter has the answer.

“If you look at the broadcast of footballon TV in 3D, what you see is the kind of standard camera angle and the 3D realization of it. We can get 3D working in some camera angles but in others it’s quite jarring,” he explained when quizzed on the matter.

“So we’ve been working on it and we’ll look at it, and when we get it right we’ll seriously think about releasing it.”

I'd rather FIFA in 2D. It's just one of those games that won't suit 3D and people (well, me and my mates) would rather in 2D. Plus the majority of people don't have 3D TV's at the moment.

google_guy I don't see a big deal in 3d as 1 I don't have a 3d TV and 2 I don't want one because I use a HDPVR and I can't really record 3d to well. So the way I see it if they added 3d you would expect price to go up which is bad.(for those 12 year olds whose parent buy them games)

well not really black ops is in 3d and its still the same price anyway it would be an opition to turn it on and off so the price would be the same

EA have enough problems right now with FIFA with servers to even think about 3D. I agree 3D would be good but i would prefer the current problems to be fixed first.
