The official Twitter account of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice revealed another short teaser video showcasing one of the game’s bosses. This time, it’s the Chained Ogre, unleashing his might on our protagonist.

As you can see, the Chained Ogre has monstrous strength and will prove to be an arduous challenge for players. One thing for sure is that Sekiro‘s boss fights will be as iconic and awesome as in Hidetaka Miyazaki’s previous games, Dark Souls and Bloodborne.
“Oni” in Japanese, which is often translated to “ogres” or “demons”, is an iconic type of Yokai in Japanese folklore, appearing in many old tales. Most of the time described as evil beings like with most Yokai monsters, Oni are also part of certain traditions or holidays in Japan, like Setsubun, or the “bean throwing festival”, celebrated every year in the Archipel on February 3. Many anime, manga, and games set in Sengoku era Japan or who include Yokai monsters, always include some Oni among their characters, so it was a given one would appear in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. It’s a quite recurrent choice as a boss monster as well.
Previous teaser videos showcased the Lady Butterfly boss and the boss battle against Gyoubu Masataka Oniwa.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will be launching on March 22 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. If you plan on getting it on PC, the game’s required specs have been published.
