PlayStation & Xbox Congratulate Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aime on Career

4.1
Shawn Layden and Phil Spencer have joined a multitude of others praising Reggie Fils-Aime for his work at Nintendo.

Yesterday, Nintendo of America’s current President Reggie Fils-Aime announced that he would be retiring from the role come April 15 of this year. It was a surprising move that many didn’t see coming and since that time, lots of various people have been coming out of the woodwork to congratulate Fils-Aime on a long and fruitful career at Nintendo.

Two of those that ended up giving Fils-Aime high praise and congratulating him were that of Xbox and PlayStation’s executives Phil Spencer and Shawn Layden. Over on Twitter, both “rival” execs ended up chiming in with their own thoughts after Nintendo and Fils-Aime shared the news that he would be leaving the company.

Xbox’s Phil Spencer wished Fils-Aime the best in the next chapter of his life and also referred to him as a “Great leader, industry partner and friend.” Layden mirrored the same sentiment by thanking Reggie “for all the games and your leadership in the industry.” He went on to also say that the industry as a whole is a better place because of his work over the years.

Even though these three are pitted against one another by many fans more often than not, it’s always nice to see them each being cordial to one another as seen here. Now that Fils-Aime will no longer be at Nintendo, I’m also even more glad that these three were able to share the stage together just once this past December at The Game Awards.
