Tropico 6 Delayed to March to Implement Fan Feedback

3.7
If you want to run an island and rule over peasants, Tropico 6 is now arriving a bit later than planned.
Those tropical sandy shores being kissed by an exotic sun will now require you to wait a bit longer until you can get your feet on the ground and begin building your perfect city. Earlier today, Kalypso Media announced that the title is being delayed to March.

The publisher stated that Tropico 6 is “shaping up to be a great game” but have decided that they want to make it even better. To make improvements to the game the decision has been made to push the release date for the PC, Mac, and Linux versions to March 29. The title was originally announced back in 2017 with plans to release in 2018, however it ended up being delayed to January 2019.

Additionally, Simon Hellwig, the Owner and Managing Director of Kalypso Media Group issued an open letter to the Tropico community. He starts the letter off by reflecting on his time with the original Tropico game from 2001 when it was run by PopTop and Take Two. He goes on to explain how he played Tropico 6 over the holidays and while he liked what he saw, he says, “it is not enough to like a game – I want to love it!”.

Hellwig mentions that the delay will allow Limbic Entertainment to improve the game, working from not only his personal opinions but from “thousands of dedicated beta players” thoughts on the simulator. Features such as “pathfinding, a challenging multiplayer and the comprehensive simulation not only of each individual Tropican, but of the whole economy” could apparently benefit from more balancing testing and enhancements.

That’s not all though as Hellwig also states that those who pre-order Tropico 6 by 7pm (CET) on January 10 will receive —for free— the first DLC that is planning for launch during Q2 2019.

This article is vague on the description of the game but I'm intrigued by what I've read. Gonna look into this game now. Especially since this news is the devs listing to the community, that's a good sign already.

I have not heard of this game before but at least they are taking their time with it and not trying to rush the product, might have to pick up this game.
