Dragon Ball Z’s Cell and Piccolo Will be Fighters in Jump Force

Dragon Ball Z characters Piccolo in Cell always seemed like guaranteed lock-ins for Jump Force. Not counting Frieza, Cell is the most notable Dragon Ball villain; meanwhile, villain-turned-ally Piccolo is just as beloved by fans. Both of these characters were revealed to be included in this Shonen Jump crossover fighting game in the latest issue of V-Jump, and were officially announced in the west by Bandai Namco Entertainment America today.

To accompany this announcement, several screenshots featuring the two characters were released. While they don’t look as slick or beautiful as they do in Dragon Ball FighterZ, I still found it interesting to see how these characters with more fantastical designs translated into Jump Force’s more “realistic” art style. While their bright green design are a bit muted, they do seem to mesh with the other characters a lot better than I was expecting.

These screenshots follow another recent batch that highlighted the custom avatar system in Jump Force as well as Rurouni Kenshin characters Himura Kenshin and Makoto Shishio. That being said, none of these characters have been the focus of a gameplay trailer or video yet, so hopefully something is in the pipeline to show these characters off soon. In the meantime, I guess we can just speculate what other notable characters from franchises like Dragon Ball, Naruto, and One Piece will be making the cut.
