Xbox LIVE: No Phishing Problems Says Microsoft

4.6
As reported around the internet yesterday, an apparent phishing scam issue caused an alert to appear on the Xbox LIVE Status page reading;

“Users may receive potential Phishing attempts via title specific messaging while playing Modern Warfare 2.”

Whilst the true nature of the warning was not known, Microsoft has today confirmed that the warning was not indicative of any other Xbox LIVE vulnerabilities.

The comments come in wake of the constant PSN hacking issues Sony has been facing over the past week, with news the last two days that millions of credit card and personal details had been leaked.

“We are working to resolve this”, read the official statement “Phishing is an unfortunate and common threat on the Internet, and this problem is not related to the Xbox Live service.”

These f****** hackers need to get a life. Sony also need to step up their security big time because everyones credit card information was store on an unencrypted server, so someone with a basic knowledge of hacking could have accessed and understood the files.

Netflix
SkipEverything yea this was that "CODHACKS.FR" infectable. Almost everyone had infections the last couple weeks and when you pressed select/back to view the lobby leaderboards whilst in-game it would pop up a message that showed this website name. That was a very ingenious idea... I never visited the website though fortunately.
So don't go to that site, correct?

Correct.

iRastafarian Sony should just leave the gaming buiz while they can

I dont think they should stop.

I liked the PS1 and PS2. The PS3 didn't catch my interests as they changed alot so i move to xbox and xbox 360. Maybe the PS4 could be a big seller. If PSN if still free then and if PSN is online then i would probably buy a PS4

Sony failed big time

I agree with most of the other comments, Sony messed up big time with this one. Being down for 2 hours isn't really a big deal, but being down for a whole week (possibly more), then reporting that all users personal info. might have been compromised in the attack, that's a big screw up...
