Nintendo Shipped 19.67 Million Switch Units by June 2018

Today Nintendo announced its financial results for the three months between April 1st and June 30th 2018. As usual, this means that we received an update on shipments for both Switch and 3DS.

As you may imagine, a quite a few new Switch units have found their way to retailers worldwide during the quarter.

As you can see in the infographic below, lifetime shipments for the Switch reached 19.67 million as of March 31st. In the meanwhile, the 3DS family (which also includes 2DS and New 2DS XL) reached 72.89 million units shipped. Of course, we also get an update in software sales for both platforms.

This means that 1.88 million Switch units have been shipped in the quarter. This is considerably slower than the 3.2 million PS4 shipments in the same quarter, inverting the trend from the previous quarter, in which the Switch shipped 430,000 consoles more than the rival.

Thats an insane amount, but not really surprised as its the best handheld console ever.

The Nintendo Switch has been doing some crazy numbers. I'm always late to the party with Nintendo consoles, and I'm waiting for a significant price cut for this one. But the lady and I both really want it so hopefully soon we can get it

To be honest I thought it would have done more in sales seeing how much hype was around this system and who was sponsoring it at release but still just under 20 mill is allot sold for Nintendo.

It's insane to see how much each device has sold, especially the Nintendo switch and DS.
