Fortnite’s Guided Missile has been offline for a while, but Epic is now ready to bring back the weapon with a new focus.


The Guided Missile has been responsible for some of Fortnite’s most viral and fun videos. Players have used it to glide their way to victory, both on their own and with the help of their teammates.

In the most recent development update video, Fortnite developer Epic announced that the Guided Missile will be returning to the game in a future update. This time around, though, it’s going to work a bit differently.

The three changes players will notice right off the bat are the nerfed damage, reduced speed, and the new ammo cap of 12 missiles. The previous version meant that it was almost impossible to defend against a Guided Missile barrage.

Epic says the Guided Missile is intended as a scouting tool, not a damage dealer. To that end, the missile will be easier to manoeuvre with a shorter turn radius, and better controls for mouse and keyboard users.
