Bethesda announced Quake Champions at E3 2016 in a cinematic trailer, promising players a multiplayer experience reminiscent of the classic. The title made its way to Steam early access in August 2017 with a price tag of $29.99.

However, in a surprise announcement today, Bethesda has announced that Quake Champions is getting a free trial from June 10 to June 17. What's even more interesting is that players who download the game through the Bethesda.net launcher or Steam, and log in, will be able to play the game completely free of cost even after the trial period ends and before the free-to-play game launches out of early access.
