E3 2018: The Initiative is a new Xbox studio

Microsoft has addressed one of its biggest short comings with the announcement of five new first party developers joining Microsoft Studios. Phil Spencer first announced The Initiative, a brand new first party Xbox One studio based in Santa Monica.

In addition, the Head of Xbox announced Undead Labs and Playground Games have joined Microsoft Studios. Playground is working on a new open world game, as well as continuing its work on Forza Horizon.

But there’s more, which two indie developer’s joining the Xbox family. Ninja Theory, which recently released Hellblade Senua’s Sacrifice on Xbox One following a period of timed exclusivity on PS4, has joined Microsoft Studios, as has Compulsion games.

This means that they will produce even better games then.

I think this is great for Xbox, getting some of the most popular studios of the last few years under their umbrealla which also means the games will be epic for the XB1 as it will be developed on their and ported to PS or PC
