Open World Horror Title Welcome to Hanwell Gets Launch Trailer

3.9
Today, Welcome to Hanwell comes to PS4 alongside it’s new launch trailer. Originally greenlit and released on Steam back on October 20, 2017, Welcome to Hanwell promised a unique, open-world horror experience for players. Now that the game has come to PS4, you can get a taste of what Welcome to Hanwell on the PS4 might offer in the launch trailer below.

Welcome to Hanwell is described on its Steam page as:

Welcome to Hanwell, once a safe haven from the horrors of the world, now a cesspit of anomalous scum. Explore a dense open world of terror, every building a unique location with it’s own story to tell. Strung together by the remenants of Hanwell.

The game features the Hanwell Council of Public Protection (HCPP), established to keep residents safe from the threats of emergent monsters called “anomalies”, who wreak havoc in Hanwell. Much like the SCP Foundation project, the HCPP fights to push back the anomalies while also researching them in order to pinpoint their origins.

Welcome to Hanwell‘s PS4 launch trailer features some spooky imagery and nice ambient soundtrack as it cuts between environments. The image of a single, dark figure at the end of a hallway is strong, and though many of the enemy types featured in the trailer appear to be pretty generic and not particularly intimidating, there are a few interesting assets like spooky-contortionist-teleportation girl… or a spider, if you’re my arachnophobic roommate.

You can pick up Welcome to Hanwell on both Steam and PS4 for $19.99. You can also take a look at their launch trailer below and see what kind of experience Hanwell might hold for you.
