Grand Theft Auto V Shipments Pass 95 Million Units

4.6
During Take-Two’s financial conference call for the fiscal year ended on March 31st, Chief Executive Officer Strauss Zelnick announced a new sales milestone for Grand Theft Auto V.

We heard that the game has passed 95 million units shipped as of March 31st, 2018, following the launch of the Premium Online Edition.

As usual, Grand Theft Auto Online exceeded the publisher’s expectations during the past fiscal quarter and remains its biggest contributor for recurring consumer spending (Basically microtransactions for those who aren’t familiar with the business terminology).

The previous shipment milestone, at over 90 million units, was announced only in February, while another at 85 million units was unveiled in November. This means that the game has been selling roughly five million units every three months, which is bonkers.

Grand Theft Auto V is currently available for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. It was initially released in September 2013 for PS3 and Xbox 360, followed by a launch on PS4 and Xbox One in November 2014, and on PC in April 2015.

Maze Wow, going to be hitting 100 million in a few short weeks-months. Crazy to see, it's an amazing game but doesn't everyone have it by now? Lmao

Thats what I am saying not to knock their hustle because clearly it is great and it is a good game but everyone doesnt have this game already...?

I guess there's still 2 groups of people that continue to drive sales up. 1. People that finally made the move to next-gen and have to buy the game again. 2. All the kids that aren't allowed the play the game until a ceersin age/time in their life and finally they are allowed to get it.

And #3) All the hackers who got perma banned and bought the game again :) Haha.

Very surprised this game is still soooo popular. I play it and find myself bored within minutes. But I have been playing since Day 1, and have over a couple thousand hours invested into it. Not surprising, I guess. Had it for 360, X1 and PC. That's 3 copies for one person already!!!!

95 million is very impressive but then again, what do you expect for such a great game.
