Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Now Backwards Compatible on Xbox One

3.7
If you’re one of the people who believe that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is inferior to its original counterpart, and you own an Xbox One, then today is your lucky day. Microsoft and publisher Activision have officially revealed that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is now backward compatible with Xbox One.

If you don’t currently own the game and you’re looking to flashback to 2007, then you’re in even more luck because the title is currently a part of Xbox’s Spring Sale, and is discounted by 15% for all players as well as 25% for Xbox Live Gold members, bringing the price down to $16.99 and $14.99 respectively.

Up until this point, the Modern Warfare series was the only subfranchise in Call of Duty, and with the rumors that Modern Warfare 2 may be getting a remaster, it will be interesting to see if the other entries will be joining the Backward Compatible list in the coming weeks.

In other Backward Compatible news, back in January, it was revealed that Far Cry 2 and Sniper Elite V2 would be joining the list.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was originally released on November 5, 2007, and is also available on PlayStation 3 and PC.

All the mods will return now, bad idea

XeCookie_ Terrible idea here comes the modder infestation worse then what it already is, like I said earlier MW3 would have been a smarter move.

Lost I don't really see the point to bring it to current-gen after you release a remaster of it. Plus it's such a broken game at this point. Guess they're trying to get every last cent out of it.

They made Ghosts backwards compatible even after Ghosts getting its own release. Any game is 1 step closer to the entire library and this might mean we are 1 step closer to seeing MW2 and MW3 BC soon.

Or Mw2 because that's the most requested at this point. Doesn't make sense at all if MWR is already out...

Kinda weird they're doing this. Kinda like them making MW2 BC... it's just gonna be filled with nothing but mods

This one will be filled with modders, MWR was trash

CoD is a plague.

PapaLarge Why would they remake Cod 4 then make the original backwards compatible?

Same thing im saying why don't they just make mw2 backwards compact instead of cod4

Lol this is what they should have done to start with...
