OpTic Gaming disqualified from a round of PUBG Invitational for glitching

3.7
OpTic Gaming’s Bahawaka was found guilty of triggering a particular exploit in PUBG during game eight of the PUBG Invitational at IEM Katowice.

The tournament took place during the last weekend in February, and it saw major esports teams like Cloud9, OpTic Gaming, and FaZe compete for $50,000 in prize money.

Unfortunately, during game eight, OpTic Gaming’s Bahawaka decided to use a wall glitch that allowed him to see through the wall. The glitch doesn’t happen by accident and requires certain steps to achieve.

Here’s a clip of that moment in the tourney:

Bahawaka was called out for it at the time, but some defended the player saying that what we saw was just a spectator glitch. However, after investigating further, the ESL decided that this was an intentional use of the bug.

Further evidence was provided by TeamLiquid captain Scoom, who recorded a recreation of the glitch and shared it on twitter.

As a result, OpTic Gaming have been disqualified from game eight, meaning all of their points from that round are forfeit. This pushes teams that placed below Optic in the rankings of game eight one place up.

With 1521 points instead of 1881, OpTic Gaming now places fifth instead of second.

Wow. Such a little and stupid thing to be disqualified for. I wonder if he meant to even do it?

5th instead of 2nd. I wonder if he thought about if it was worth it just to see if a player is on the other side before he did it

Famous Had to say with this one but I can easy be bought off byvthis was a mistake.

It doesn't look meant it just look like he was a little interested in what he saw i mean we have all done stuff like this in games that are as broken as this but honestly this game shouldn't even be comp yet.

... It looked like a complete accident though. The game should probably be fixed before even considering esports.

Surprises me such a still broken game is used for pro tournys.

Game clearly isn't ready for comp since it's still so broken, but a pro player should know better.

Damn optic had taken some L's lately, no more halonteam anymore either

Lol. broken game for esports and a horrible team?
They should just be banned from all esports for even the slightest of this glitch.
