The Division 2 Officially Announced

4.2
In an announcement, Ubisoft confirmed today that its open-world action RPG title, The Division, will be receiving a sequel. The confirmation arrives on the original game's second anniversary, and just as the original, The Division 2 is being developed by Massive Entertainment, with Ubisoft Reflections, Red Storm Entertainment, Ubisoft Annecy, Ubisoft Shanghai, and Ubisoft Bucharest, helping with the efforts.

The release date, platforms, or any gameplay details regarding the game were not announced today. But, the publisher did reveal that an updated version of the Snowdrop engine will be powering the sequel, and that the title will be fully unveiled at E3 this year.

Possibly alluding to the issues that The Division had at launch - such as the bullet-sponge enemies - and the subsequent updates that turned the game around in the eyes of fans, the developer added that "we're also taking everything we learned over the past two years and applying it towards the sequel to make sure we get it right."

Meanwhile, The Division isn't being left behind, as two more major updates are planned to be introduced in the future. These will bring Xbox One X enhancements, new global events, and more. Also, the developer will be adding Shields as special achievements to the original that will enable players to unlock rewards in the sequel once it launches.

Hopefully they don't downsize or make it worse than the first.

Yeah first one was fun to a point. I just wasn't into the whole 'attack builds' and stuff so I didn't kill higher enemies as fast, but Jesus it got to a point where I'd run out of ammo on all guns before sweeping a building. Just annoying having to get ammo all the time

For sure a game I didnt see coming as a series. The Division started out as a great game but the more you progress, the more boring it got. Hopefully we can see some improvements in this game, and possibly a great setting for it.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out. I loved the first one but got bored of it after a few months. I hope they more addictive.
