Far Cry 5 Will Have Microtransactions, But No Lootboxes

Far Cry 5, the very first game in Ubisoft’s open world globe trotting first person action franchise, will, much like just about every other Ubisoft game, feature microtransactions. At this point, this should come as a surprise to no one, because this is basically the norm for all Ubisoft games.

The good news is that while there are microtransactions (those are words I never thought I would say together), there are no lootboxes in the game- so if you are spending money on the game, at last you will know what you are spending money on, and you will get what you intend to purchase without any RNG nonsense attached to the package.

Far Cry 5 is due out later this month, on March 27. The game, which is the first entry in the series to be set in the United States, will be launching on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Really not too surprised on this news since every game releasing has been announced to have microtransactions. As long as there's no lootboxes that you have to gamble for items, ill for sure be buying this game.

If the game does really good on release I think they might actually care. Alot of people want this game.


The game will be good. Its a pattern with them. FC3 was great, FC4 was crap so this one should be good. But let's hope they don't ruin it with these shitty loot boxes.


I'm confused with that statement. It says no Lootboxes? If you mean Microtransactions then I agree 110%

Loot boxes are a great thing to keep out of game but microtransactions are not that much better.

Hopefully this doesn't stick.

Wow... it's come to that point where even micro transactions are deemed as "not lootboxes" making it good. AAA games are truly dead.
