Judge allows Sony to gather IP's of all who visited Geohot's website

The latest 'ruling' in the Geohot Vs Sony case doesn't look good for Geohot. Sony has been granted the permission to access the IPs of all those who visited Geohot's website and other social media accounts. Sony explained that it needed the respective information for a number of reasons. These reasons include to prove Geohot's distribution of the hack and the other is to prove that many folks downloaded the hack from North Californa.

A lot of people on here are really misunderstanding this.
Sony are not going to ban you or sue you or do anything to you, all they are doing is trying to get a an accurate estimate of people who downloaded the files from geohot's website.

For god sake Sony. You are taking it way tooooo far and plus this is not fare that we are getting our own PERSONAL ip addreses shown. Which is very annoying as we are suppose to have our personal details hidden not given away when a company wants them. This is absolutly discusting!

okay, so i dont have a ps3 my brother does i went onto geohotz website and downloaded the files. i didn't use them so got rid of them. So could anything happen? Especially to my brothers ps3?
