Fortnite update 2.5.0 is live – here’s the patch notes

It’s time for love, loot and llamas.

Fortnite patch 2.5.0 is live, and alongside the belated Valentine’s Day event for Save the World, updates have been applied to Battle Royale.

Patch 2.5.0 introduces a new grenade, Shrines, weapon balance and bug fixes for Battle Royale. Save the World introduces Spring it On along with a Valentine’s Questline, Lunar New Year Heroes and some super cool Dragon Weapons.

Battle Royale players will find thematic Shrines hidden across the map full of treasure and the new Impulse Grenade looks rather cool, too. It is a Blue rarity item and is only found in Treasure Chests and Supply Drops.

Save the World players will find four Lunar New Year Heroes and Dragon Weapons available. As noted yesterday, Seasonal Gold has been converted to Firecracker Tickets.

New and improved Universal Inventory is also coming to Save the World, but it won’t arrive in-game until Monday, February 19. This is due to in-progress testing.

Some general fixes were also applied to the game, one of which full 4K resolution for Xbox One X. PS4 players will be pleased to know Epic Games addressed an issue where patches took longer to download than they should. The update also enables dynamic resolution and high quality temporal upsampling on both consoles.

Craig Hell of a lot of patch notes. Least they are keeping it up.


All they have to do now is maintain constant updates until perfection.

Mikey What a brilliant update for such an epic game, Fortnite has been doing really well these past few weeks and can see the game is just going to grow even more and gonna end up having all the PUBG players switch over to Fornite lol. That would be great :D


They are likely one of the fastest growing communities. So many people keep signing up for this game (due to it being free) and in the end enjoying it. The developers are inviting to their players and always keep the updates pushing making a new and more fun experience.


The devs part in the community is always good and the constant updates being pushed out will keep people happy and this game will stay hyped. I really dont understand the hype as before I have said that this game is really boring. I have tried squads and solo they are both boring really. I spawn in and die almost immediately everytime.

Already played a handful of this update. Love the new shrines around the map, they usually have 2-3 chests with great tier loot. A downside is the grenades arent the best imo. My team mates seem to always troll me by hitting me with a grenade bouncing me all over the place or just trying to kill me in general.

I love the new gear and weapon skins that were presented. Looks pretty cool


I have not seen them yet. 7.6 gb is a huge update so it better add some good stuff and fix some problems with that amount of space. I am about to look up the new gear right now!
