Halo 5: Guardians is free to play this weekend with Xbox Live Gold

4.1
Halo 5: Guardians is hosting a free play weekend for those who have an active Xbox Live Gold membership. Details of this promotion were revealed on Xbox Wire.

From Thursday, January 11 at 12:01 a.m. PST until Sunday, January 14 at 10:59 p.m. PST Xbox Live Gold members can download the full game on Xbox One. You will have access to its entire solo campaign and multiplayer for the weekend. Its Arena multiplayer mode contains classic multiplayer game types that fans know and love, and you’ll also get to try out Warzone, the new game type introduced in Halo 5.

Additionally, during the duration of this free play weekend, Halo 5: Guardians will be 20% off on the Microsoft Store. You can purchase the Standard Edition now for $15.99 or the Deluxe Edition for $29.99. Should you buy it after the program ends, you’ll still keep all of your saved progress and achievements earned will carry over.

Halo 5 was updated a couple months ago to add Xbox One X enhancements. It is now capable of 4K resolution on Microsoft’s newest console. It already ran at 60FPS on a standard Xbox One, but with dynamic resolution scaling previously.

Didn't get a chance to put some work into this game. However, the Halo series died for me at Halo 3. I do not believe you can live up to that amazing game.

Could of gotten a few achievements if I had gold. I refuse to buy a membership. I haven't bought LIVE in like 3 years.

Didn't get a chance to play it but I feel like I didn't miss much. Games pretty cheap so I wouldn't mind just buying it rather then waiting for a weekend, although it would be good to test it out before buying.

I haven't played halo in a while. I may give it go if the file isn't too big.

Never played a Halo before so I may aswel give it a try seeing as it's free, although my connection is terrible and will take ages to install lol.

It'd take me all weekend to download it. Would rather play cod or battlefront.
