Killzone 3 leaks to the web

4.7
More bad news for video game developers and publishers. According to the folks over at Destructoid, reports are coming in that a pre-release version Killzone 3 has surfaced on torrent sites nearly 10 days before its intended released date.

Coming just a day after the leak of Crytek's Crysis 2, the European build of Sony's Killzone 3 has apparently been made available on a handful of P2P sites. As of this moment there are two files floating around, one including 3D capability – which weighs in at a hefty 41.4GB – and one without at roughly half the size. It should be noted that these files can only run on a hacked PlayStation 3.

As is the case with Crysis 2, a leak this far before the game's release is sure to affect projected sales. Sony has yet to make an official statement on the situation.

The highly-anticipated Killzone 3 is the third installment in the first-person shooter series, developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. The title is set to hit store shelves on February 22 in North America and February 25 in Europe as a PlayStation 3 exclusive.

Almost any computer game gets leaked before it is released and the companies still do fine. Tell me how Sony is going down hill.
