3.8
In a surprise announcement from developer Bethesda, the two major pillars of the studio — The Elder Scrolls and Fallout — will be getting their previously-revealed Xbox One X updates today. Offering improved visuals across the board, Xbox One X owners can now play in 4K for Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition.

But what exactly can you expect? As described earlier this month, here are the line-item updates for both games:

Fallout 4
Supports 4K Resolution
Enhanced features include:
Dynamic Resolution
Enhanced draw distance for trees, grass, objects and NPCs
Enhanced God Ray effects

Skyrim Special Edition
Supports 4K Resolution
Enhanced features include:
Dynamic Resolution

This means that both Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition will be joining the already released Xbox One X lineup by Bethesda, currently including Dishonored 2, Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, Fallout 3, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind, The Evil Within 2, and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus.

The only Bethesda experience still in active development for Xbox One X enhancement support is DOOM, according to Microsoft’s curated list. Worth noting, the 4K textures are clocking in at 8 GB additional for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition and a whopping 19GB for Fallout 4.
