A relatively unknown website is claiming that Sony has a secret weapon for use in their fight against copyright infringement, Unique serial numbers! The site in question claims that newer Playstation 3 software will arrive with matching unique serial numbers. The first serial number is said to be contained on the Blu-Ray disc while the second serial number is to be found lovingly printed on cardboard.

The article suggests that the use of these serial numbers will be to lock a retail game to a specific console, essentially using the existing five activation digital content protection scheme currently used in content found on the Playstation Network.
