During a TwitchCon panel, the developer revealed that seasons will make big changes to the game’s theme and items, with four planned for the first year. Each season will be accompanied by a big update that will include sandbox tuning, an event, and new items and cosmetics in Bight Engrams, including new shaders, emotes, and ships.
As well as the above changes, each season will also reset Clan XP progress, with clans who have reached max level in the first season getting a special staff to show their achievement. Clans also get a new set of perks in each season that will be based on the season’s theme.
In terms of events, Destiny 2′s second season will see the return of The Dawning event, bringing with it ice hockey, snowballs, and a new set of themed gear.
Sadly, Bungie failed to offer a release date for Destiny 2‘s second season.
In other news, Bungie also unveiled Destiny 2‘s Clarion Call events during the panel. These events will allow players to earn double XP in a variety of ways, offering twice as many Bright Engrams for players who have reached max level. The first of these events will begin before the end of season one and grants players double XP when playing with clan mates.
Destiny 2 is available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, with a PC release scheduled to go live tomorrow, October 24th.
