This is like Jailbreaking an itouch being such an issue with apple...

Geohost never supported the pirating of games.
just like jailbreakers do not "support" the cracking of apps.

Sony is just going to try to win a case they know they are not.

SnPrXMafiA Wasn't there a case where the judge said the user who bought the item (ps3) can do what he or she wants to it? Its not like sony is loosing money...

Sonys whole defense is that it enables users to play pirated games. They also claimed that Geohot supported piracy and he DID NOT! They are basically starting a faulty lawsuit to scare hackers from wanting to proceed further and to keep the good guys down.

Honestly I don't see Sony getting anywhere in court with this. It will just keep fail0verflow and Geohot from creating homebrew until the trial is settled. The law should be that anything that you own you have full reasonable extent to modification and customization. In other words they took stuff from what they owned. I can't believe that they would waste the money taking this to court. They won't win. It'll be just like the Apple jailbreaking lawsuit.
